IN OUR OWN WORDS: A Basic Text Play by Jackie Bendzinski
Sebastopol Veterans Memorial Hall
Sebastopol, CA

June 18, 2011 - 8pm Curtain

Played to standing room only audiences in San Antonio in 2010, In Our Own Words brings to life the pioneers of the twelve step recovery movement. Simply, and with great humor and depth, the play retells the stories of the movements founders in New York, Akron, Cleveland and Los Angeles. Going further into its history, In Our Own Words also shares the lesser-known struggles of the pioneering members of special composition groups in the fellowship, including the first women and young people, as well as early African-American and Latino members. Join men and women like Marty M, Sybil C, Barry L, Joe McQ, and many more, on their search for a solution and acceptance. Their stories, and this play, are not to be missed. SCIF is proud to present the original production under the direction of the author herself.
